I came across a possible tradesy deal for a veritcal mill, pretty good clone job of a Bridgeport. It has a model # 100-4420 on the plate which looks a lot like Enco's part numbers. Serial # is 85-03232, made in March of 1985. Says made in Taiwan, but no name on it anywhere, also has an Enco brand 2 axis DRO installed.
I was beginning to feel better as things were now coming together. OOPS they didn't include a 1" long piece of 3mm square key to set the bevel gear to the extention shaft. I had to mill 2 sides of a piece of 3/16" key for that. Moving on now, Time to install the original dial from the Enco over the bronze hub of the bevel gear.
Apr 15, 2017. #4. The later Enco machines, like much of the leftovers listed on MSC, were made in China. Older Enco machines were made in Taiwan. Turn-Pro was usually higher quality than the Enco branded machines & have a good reputation with owners. All made in Taiwan as far as I know.
The table was way higher on the front edge than it was on the back edge,running a dial indicator across the table,front to back.I ended up getting a deal on a Taiwan made machine the same Co. sold.Was much better.I'd advise you to get the Turn Pro mill that Enco sells.It is Taiwan made,at least.There should be a little more height …
This is a reproduction, not a photocopy, of an original Enco X6320A, 100-1525 8″x 36″ Vertical Milling Machine Instructions Operator's & Parts Manual. These machines were imported under a variety of brand names including Grizzly, Central Machinery, and Nantong. I personally owned the Grizzly G6760, and found it to be a good quality mill.

The manual with it is a Chinese joke... very little useful information.
That should be comparable to the Grizzly G0705 - Mill/Drill with Stand 29" x 8" for around $1700 new. Keep in mind that the basic design has been copied to make different models for different sellers.
