1968 Grill/Frontend Assembly. I am in the process of mocking up my front end/sheet metal to see how everything fits prior to going into the painting stage. Fenders, Inner Fenders, Doors, Radiator Support are new reproduction parts. All of these parts will be fit and tweaked. Including the hood of course, which is a GM SS Hood I picked up.

Thanks guys! I rebuild all the harnesses in my older cars when I'm working on them. This 68 will be the first chevelle I've tore into. Until now it's been all Camaros' and the info out there for them is light years ahead of what you can find on a Chevelle. I'm just trying to find a diagram that shows the dash wiring for the factory gauges.
I guess I know what I need to do but I just don't want to admit it. I'm not looking forward to it, but it has to be done. Pilot drill a hole, then use a left handed drill bit or an extractor bit to get it to break free. [emoji20] 1968 Chevelle Malibu 454, mild cam, 30 over, 12-bolt 3.73 rear.

I have to replace the door and read in another post to use 1/8th closed cell and glue it on the 2 doors you can get to without splitting the box open to get to the inaccessible door. While moving the parts off the shelf I can across these two blue clips.

Ark68SS. 6363 posts · Joined 2003. #2 · Oct 16, 2010. You'll need to grind the hole out to a round shape to accept the throttle cables that are available today. The original style cables for '68's (square) aren't reproduced and are almost impossible to find in any condition. BillL.
I removed the two screws holding the main tach unit to the mounting plate, and traced the mounting plate on paper. Then I drew the raised shape of the mounting plate that's about 3/16" from the edge. Using a picture of a factory roller tach gauge back, I eyeballed the position of the hole and taped it in place.
The grilles can be installed either way. 68 or 69. You will need the grille and the brackets for the year desired. On the 69 there are 2 upper and 2 lower grille brackets, the side and center moldings should bolt right up, and of course the bumper and turn signal lights will have to be changed.

I have 17's on my 68, Am. Racing TTII's and IIRC 9.5" wide rear with 5.5" BS 275/50r17 M&H drag radials, also have Weld Draglite 15" with 5.5" BS and 295/55r15" MT ET drag radials, front is 8" wide AR TTII's with 245/45r17" radials also a D52 4 whl disc kit on the car. Get in the Chevelle and turn back the Clock 45 years.

I posted pics of my 68 disc conversion. The second pic shows the distribution block, its the gold block down on the frame.

Yes it was a 4l60E to 4L80E swap. Pretty awesome that you can do the segment swap yourself. Turnaround was only about 14 hours from HPTuners, but when that is the last thing that needs to be done it feels like 140 hours. 1968 Chevelle - 3795# with driver. 6.0 LSX with TSP 224R cam swap. S475 Turbo.
